Almora Magnesite Limited
The Company was established as a Joint Venture Company of M/s. U.P. State Industrial Development Corporation and M/s. Belpahar Refractories Limited (Now Tata Refractories Limited) in 1971, with an aim to exploit the Magnesite deposit located in hilly backward Distt. Almora (U.P.) now Distt: Bageshwar (Uttarakhand) in a total mining lease area of 407.93 Acres. The proved reserve of exploitable magnesite is 11 million tonnes. Simultaneously, two vertical Shaft Kilns were installed to produce Dead Burnt Magnesite having production capacity of 30000 MT per year. In the year 1977, M/s. Steel Authority of India Limited joined the Company. The total Paid-up Capital of the Company is Rs.2.00 Crores. The present equity stakes of U.P. State Industrial Development Corporation, Tata Refractories Limited and Steel Authority of India Limited in Almora Magnesite Limited are 41%, 39% and 20% respectively.
