What Is Background Screening
Background Screening (known by a number of different names such as pre-employment screening, background verifications, etc) pertains to verification of credentials submitted by employees /candidates to companies they intend to join, either at the time of joining or immediately before or after they join. Depending on the stage at which the check is ordered, this is referred to as a pre- or post-employment check. A standard check usually includes verification of a candidate's educational qualifications, employment history, criminal and civil litigation records, reference checks, global regulatory and compliance database searches, verification of address, identity, credit history, etc. You can refer to the services and solutions sections in our website to know more about what these checks entail.
Some people tend to mistakingly view this as a 'detective' type of work, which it is not. The major differences between a background check and an investigative enquiry is that (a) this is done with the consent of the candidate, and (b) it is an overt check where information is validated only from sources available in the public domain.
Expectations From The Role
This person would be part of our sales team and will report in to the Sales Head. He /she would be expected to create a sales pipeline using existing contacts, build new sources as well as leverage whatever network they have. There will be sales targets (both, new sales and existing client retention /cross-selling, etc) which they would be expected to meet. Depending on the level of experience and skills we find this person possessing, we will have him /her identify, develop and convert their own leads, of course within the framework of our sales strategy.
This requires our candidate to be aggressive and target-oriented, with better-than-good communication and engagement skills. The candidate should be very well versed and articulate in spoken and written English
