Open Media and Informal Learning (OMIL) delivers online learning from The Open University and publishes it to OpenLearn (www.open.edu/openlearn) and a range of other platforms such as YouTube and iTunes. As part of our ongoing commitment to access to education for all, this activity encourages uptake of student registration whilst providing a robust subject and careers support for our formal students. OpenLearn is an award-winning platform, reaching over seven million visitors annually. It contains over fifteen thousand hours of free learning material, most of which is adapted from our own qualifications.
You will have a range of responsibilities, namely delivering courses and other learning assets for OpenLearn. You will be required to contribute to platform development strategy, commissioning and evaluation of OpenLearn content for maximum impact and liaising with a broad range of faculty and professional services colleagues. You will lead a team of editors, manage budgets and set targets for the successful delivery of online courses. You will require a degree of technical and editorial savvy in education and online publishing to drive the platform to continue to meet its business and outreach targets.
